NIHON DRAGON - Noble, hard hitting, good defense, and it flies. Abilities: FLEET and SIEGE (think strategic bomber). Disadvantages: low hitpoints (can be overwhelmed by smaller units) and hideously expensive to produce and maintain. The Dragon could also be a rare unit - only one unit per player at any given time.

ONI GIANT TAKO - Slimy, hard hitting, average defense, but really tough (high hitpoints). Abilites: SIEGE and REPULSION (any unsuccessful attack also forces the attacking unit back one or two hexes). Disadvantages: Slow (1 hex) and very expensive to produce and maintain. Heh, the thought of a large tentacled creature chasing low-level Nee-hoes around the board kinda makes me chuckle.

I've been dwelling on Irontang's NINJA idea. How about making the NINJAS a pain-in-the-ass NPC unit? Make them appear at random locations and intervals and attack the nearest unit or city ala "barbarians from Civilization".

Yes, I spelled NINJA in all caps - cause they're so awesome. :)

Yup, I was also thinking about random NPCs that not only appear but move, attack, and try to claim hexes. I think adding that is very doable. It just won't be any time soon cause there's lots of finetuning, high level units, clans, etc to add first.

I like it :) the weaker units would quickly fall victim, it would be like natural selection.

I think there should be some kind of reward for killing a NINJA based on the NINJA's level or maybe if you defeat him he has to serve you for N number of turns :)

Also might be an idea if the Noob protection cover the NINJA.
