I've added some improved caching on Akayume to help speed up the hexmap. The first time you visit the map.php page, it will probably be slow. After that, it should load up noticeably faster. Cache of images is set to expire after a month, so in theory this should mean the hexmap will load slow once a month. Let me know if you're not finding it faster, and what browser & cache settings you're using. Kep |

| I note a significant increase in speed with the non-premium map. (I'd prefer to stay this way such that I can test the alternate features for now.) |

Something else that would speed up the map quite a lot is reducing the amount of variant artwork that the hexmap uses. It'll make for a slightly less attractive map, but it would A) load faster and B) make it far easier to tell the difference between the different types of terrain. Toying with it in dev now. Very likely to do this since it's not worth it to hinder gameplay for aesthetics. Kep |
